BIG FUN RUN - 17/18 JULY 2010 - FOR PTC

11-05-2010

With summer just around the corner, police officers and staff from Tayside Police can kick-start a new fitness regime while raising money to support injured police officers.

The Police Treatment Centres is one of the official charities of the Big Fun Run, which is a series of five kilometre events taking place throughout the UK. Events are taking place at Camperdown Country Park in Dundee on Saturday 17 July 2010 and at North Inch Park in Perth on Sunday 18 July 2010.

Emma Jarvis-Hinton, one of the Police Treatment Centres’ fitness instructors said: “Getting yourself ready for an event like a fun run can really help you to improve your fitness levels. No excuses - if you make time for exercise your quality of life will be so much better and both you and your family will benefit.”

To help fun runners get off on the right foot, Emma and her colleague Juliet Finlay (who is also a PTC fitness instructor) have put together some useful training and nutrition tips. The information is available to download from the Police Treatment Centres website: www.thepolicetreatmentcentres.org/en/content/news-big-fun-run.aspx

Big Fun Run events are being held in 24 locations across the country. For more information or enter an event and raise money for The Police Treatment Centres visit www.bigfunrun.com
